•Any movies, TV shows, books, etc. with bad language, violence, or any kind of bad content
•Sporting events (televised or in person), which all too often feature things we’d rather our children not see or hear (if you’ve been to a live sporting event any time in the last few years, you know what I’m talking about)
•Music or advertisements on the radio that can contain all sorts of bad things
…and that’s just the tip of the iceberg in the world we live in today.

You continually explain to your Kids what they are doing in the world today as one of my Favorite sitcoms is Two and a Half Men ( 1/2 is now 19 years young ) That the way they keep a Good Sitcom going is by pushing the Limits lke: Talking about regular, anal and oral sex.
You tell the Kids why they the shows are like that but I wouldn't BAN my Kid from anything unless it was a serious offense involved.
Like back in 1999 I was with my family in Wilmington, DE and my ex's son (not mine) had an altercation with me and I was yelling and neighbors called the police and we were both taken to the police station and booked & released. Weeks later we went to Family Court both with Offensive Touching charges. I could have asked the Police to raise her son's charge to ASSAULT but being a Good Guy I didn't. Her son threw a Baby Car Seat at me and hit me in the Head. My Life could have ended that day but I have a Hard Head. I NEVER got any Apology from him as Cowards don't ever apolozize. Cowards are those Born and Die like him and most of his family and this act against a Vietnam Vet was very shameful and Cowardly.

My Dad lost the Courage he Earned in WWII (like most WWII Vets who were Bribed by this Country) when he didn't protest the Vietnam War. My Dad told me Nothing about Anything or what you would call a Lousy Parent. So I learned how to be a Good Parent from their Weaknesses. My Dad was a 7th & 8th teacher and also a salesperson of Speciality Advertising. My Mom worked at different times but only earned the Minimum wage. I was a shy kid and I am still shy today thou I’ll speak to total strangers on a regular basis when I have something to say which is a lot in my 60’s. I never did that well in school as I finished about ½ way in my 1968 class. I went thru High School without even One single problem going from 5th to 12th grade only missing two days in my Junior year. Probably only a 2.2 gpa in two years at Drexel University (1973-1975). Switching to Peirce JC and having a 3.5 gpa (1976-1977). So I got an Associate degree in Business Automation Management. The Biggest and Only problem I faced in Life was my lousy marriage. I will take you back many years to a Grammer/English class I had in my teens I forget the grade either 9th, 10th or 11th circa 1960‘s as it wasn’t my senior year. We were told to write a paper during a 50 minute period about what you see Outside and I sat there and thought and thought but the period ended without me writing one word. I returned in an after school period also about 50 minutes sat there that whole period and came up with Nothing. I was a Coward then thou if a Child dies before 21 he does Not die a Coward. Beneath the icy surface of a buried Antarctic lake, in super-salty water devoid of light and oxygen that is also cold enough to freeze seawater, researchers have now discovered that a diverse community of bacteria has survived for millennia.
The findings shed light on the extreme limits at which life can live not just on Earth, but possibly alien worlds, scientists added.
Researchers analyzed Lake Vida, which lies encapsulated within ice at least 60 feet (18 meters) beneath Antarctica's surface. Past studies revealed the brine in the lake has been isolated from the surface for at least 2,800 years.
"That ice is so thick, nothing from the outside can get down to the water naturally,"researcher Peter Doran, an earth scientist at the University of Illinois at Chicago, said from a research outpost on Antarctica. [Strangest Places Where Life Is Found on Earth]
To examine the brine, the researchers used drills and heated pipes to delve downward. To avoid contaminating this isolated ecosystem, researchers set up a "clean room" on top of the hole, wearing the type of white suits used in electronics and germ labs to keep conditions as sterile and free of contamination as possible.
"Doing all this in the cold of Antarctica is pretty tough," Doran said.
Life finds a way
The brine ranges from yellow to orange in color due to iron-laced compounds within it. The investigators found the temperature of the water was about 8 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 13 degrees Celsius) - its saltiness, about five to six times greater than average ocean water, keeps it from freezing like freshwater or seawater would. It is also completely depleted of oxygen and mildly acidic.
But despite the tough set of conditions, the researchers found the diverse and thriving community of microbes in the brine.
"What's most surprising is that there's anything living down there - it's a pretty harsh environment for life to take hold," Doran told OurAmazingPlanet. "There's a mantra that goes, 'wherever on Earth you find water, you find life,' and this is another one of those examples."
The brine had very high levels of carbon-based compounds, the building blocks of life. It also possessed high levels of chemicals that generally react with each other, such as nitrous oxide and molecular hydrogen, suggesting they were being regularly replenished - a surprising discovery, given how the lake was isolated for millennia from any obvious external sources of energy to help create them.
The overall chemistry of this brine suggests that chemical reactions between the water and the underlying sediment generated the reactive chemicals seen in the brine. The molecular hydrogen seen in the brine might serve as a fuel source to help support its microbial life, researchers added.
A giant cave that might have helped serve as the inspiration for the mythic ancient Greek underworld Hades once housed hundreds of people, potentially making it one of the oldest and most important prehistoric villages in Europe before it collapsed and killed everyone inside, researchers say.
The complex settlement seen in this cave suggests, along with other sites from about the same time, that early prehistoric Europe may have been more complex than previously thought.
The cave, located in southern Greece and discovered in 1958, is called Alepotrypa, which means "foxhole."
"The legend is that in a village nearby, a guy was hunting for foxes with his dog, and the dog went into the hole and the man went after the dog and discovered the cave," said researcher Michael Galaty, an archaeologist at Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss. "The story's probably apocryphal - depending on who you ask in the village, they all claim it was their grandfather who found the cave."
A prehistoric cathedral
After its discovery, Greek officials originally saw the cave as a potential tourist attraction. However, when archaeologists realized the historical secrets it might hold, they led efforts to keep tourism from inadvertently destroying the site.
The main chamber of the cave is about 200 feet (60 meters) tall and up to about 330 feet (100 m) wide. Altogether, the cave is nearly 3,300 feet (1,000 m) long, large enough to have its own lake, in which famed explorer Jacques Cousteau once scuba-dived.
"If you've ever seen The Lord of the Rings, this might make you recall the mines of Moria - the cave is really that impressive," Galaty told LiveScience.
Excavations that have taken place at Alepotrypa since 1970 uncovered tools, pottery, obsidian and even silver and copper artifacts that date back to the Neolithic or New Stone Age, which in Greece began about 9,000 years ago.
"Alepotrypa existed right before the Bronze Age in Mycenaean Greece, so we're kind of seeing the beginnings of things that produced the age of heroes in Greece," Galaty said.
Cave dwellers apparently used the cavern not only as a shelter, but also as a cemetery and place of ritual.
"You have to imagine the place torchlit, filled with people lighting bonfires and burying the dead," Galaty said. "It was quite like a prehistoric cathedral, a pilgrimage site that attracted people from all over the region and perhaps from further afield."
Cave settlements
The cave apparently went through a series of occupations and abandonments.
"Alepotrypa was at a perfect place to intercept sea trade from Africa all the way to the eastern Mediterranean, being right at the southern tip of Greece," Galaty said.
Settlement at the cave abruptly ended when its entrance collapsed about 5,000 years ago, perhaps due to an earthquake, burying cave dwellers alive.
"It is and was an amazing place, the closest thing we have to a Neolithic Pompeii," Galaty said, referring to the ancient Roman town of Pompeii, which was buried when Mt. Vesuvius erupted nearly 2,000 years ago. Ash entombed and preserved Pompeii, and excavations there have given archaeologists extraordinarily detailed views of life during that time. In much the same way, the final cave collapse left everything in place in Alepotrypa, with everything inside getting a pearly mineral coating over the years.
Intriguingly, people apparently performed burials in the cave while conducting rituals that involved burning huge amounts of dung and depositing large amounts of colored and finely painted pottery.
"The burial sites and rituals that took place really do give the cave an underworld feel. It's like Hades, complete with its own River Styx," Galaty added, referring to the river that in Greek myth served as the boundary between the mortal realm and the netherworld.

The Supreme Court refused on Monday to revive a controversial Illinois law that prohibited audio recordings of police officers acting in public places, a ban that critics said violated the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
Without comment, the court on Monday let stand a May 8 ruling by the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago that blocked enforcement of the law, which had made it a felony to record audio of conversations unless all parties consented.
In a 2-1 ruling, the 7th Circuit called the law "the broadest of its kind," and said it likely violated the free speech and free press guarantees in the First Amendment.
The office of Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez, who had defended the law, said "we respect and accept the court's decision in this matter and we are continuing to review all legal options as the case proceeds in U.S. district court."
The law had been challenged by the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois, which was pursuing a Chicago-area "police accountability program" and sought to preempt the government from interfering with its recording of police officers.
Writing for the 7th Circuit majority, Judge Diane Sykes said Alvarez staked out an "extreme position" in arguing that openly recording what police say on the job on streets, sidewalks, plazas and parks deserved no First Amendment protection.
Judge Richard Posner dissented, saying the ruling "casts a shadow" over electronic privacy statutes nationwide that require consent of at least one party to record many conversations.
"Privacy is a social value. And so, of course, is public safety," he wrote. "The constitutional right that the majority creates is likely to impair the ability of police both to extract information relevant to police duties and to communicate effectively with persons whom they speak with in the line of duty."
In her appeal to the Supreme Court, Alvarez said the 7th Circuit wrongly created a new First Amendment right that could impair all eavesdropping statutes and the ability of governments to conduct surveillance.
The case is Alvarez v. Connell et al, U.S. Supreme Court, No. 12-318.

Hungarian lawmaker claims Jews implicated in blood libel

BUDAPEST (JTA) – Hungarian Jewish leaders issued a strongly worded protest against a speech by a far-right lawmaker who claimed that Jews had been implicated in a notorious blood libel case in northern Hungary 130 years ago.
In a five-minute speech before parliament Tuesday night, Zsolt Barath of the extreme-right Jobbik party cited the 1882 blood libel case in the village of Tiszaeszlar in which 15 local Jews were accused of murdering a Hungarian girl, Eszter Solymosi. The case triggered widespread anti-Semitic hysteria, but the Jews were acquitted after a lengthy trial.
In his speech Barath questioned the outcome of the Tiszaeszlar trial and said the culprits had never been determined.
“As we can see, there is no clear explanation, we do not know what happened to Eszter,” he said. “Nevertheless, there is one point common to the known variants: The Jewry and the leadership of the country were severely implicated in the case.” He said the verdict acquitting the Jews had been due to “outside pressure.”
No one stopped Barath from speaking, but government representative Janos Fonagy condemned him.
”Mention of the Tiszaeszlar blood libel opens up wounds of entire centuries,” Fonagy said.
In a protest letter Wednesday to the parliamentary leadership, the senior leaders of Hungary’s umbrella Jewish organization, Mazshisz, called Barath’s speech "straight from the dark Middle Ages" and demanded that government authorities “immediately take such legislative and other steps” to prevent and penalize such speeches.
Warning against the "growing threat" of mounting anti-Semitism, they said the Hungarian parliament must not allow lawmakers to hide behind their parliamentary immunity in order to make “openly racist, anti-Semitic remarks.”

Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban Reuters In an act that far too greatly recalls the policies of the Nazi regime, a far-right Hungarian lawmaker released a statement Monday saying that a list should be compiled of all of the Jewish members of parliament and government.
Marton Gyongyosi of the blatantly anti-Semitic Jobbik party said before regular business hours in Parliament on Monday that government officials and parliamentarians of Jewish origin had unduly influenced Hungary’s policy towards the current situation in Israel and Gaza.
“It is high time to assess many MPs and government members are of Jewish origin and who present a national security risk to Hungary,” Gyongyosi said, according to the Hungarian news site, politics.hu.
The country’s foreign ministry, he continued to state, had “rushed to make an oath of allegiance to Israel.”
The office of the government’s spokesman released a statement Tuesday morning saying that the government “takes the strictest possible action against every form of racism and anti-Semitic behavior and does everything in order to ensure that malicious voices incompatible with European norms are driven back.”
The lawmaker claimed his comments only applied to those who hold dual Hungarian-Israeli citizenship. He further criticized the press for attacking the Jobbik party instead of Israel.
His comments followed those made by Jobbik president Gabor Vona last week at a demonstration in front of the Israel embassy in Budapest, in which he said that government members and MPs should be screened to determine whether any possess dual Hungarian-Israeli citizenship, the Hungarian news site reported.
The remarks also come a day before a major conference on hate speech organized by the Council of Europe was scheduled to open in Budapest.
According to the news source, Gyongyosi sparked controversy in July when he lashed out at investigators searching for Nazi war criminals in Hungary.
He sarcastically said that, “no summer can pass” without the Simon Wiesenthal Center discovering the “most wanted” Nazi criminal, referring to the arrest of Laszlo Csatary.
In January he was further accused by the opposition Socialist party of espousing Holocaust denial.
