Relationships can be a tremendous source of joy, both on a physical level and because they pave the way for us to awaken to God and to unconditional love. However, we must be willing to view and approach them from a broader perspective.
Relationships always mirror back to us what we hold in mind. Hence, we will attract to ourselves people and situations that mirror back to our conscious awareness those thoughts and beliefs that we consciously or unconsciously entertain. Without other people acting as mirrors we would not be able to consciously know what we have denied, judged or misrepresented.
When we really accept the value of relationships, we have the keys to finding solutions which otherwise would be hidden. We have the opportunity to learn more about our self and about the other person. We can then start to take responsibility for all our misaligned perceptions, limitations, judgments and beliefs, and set out on a different course of action that will bring us back into alignment with love and truth, rather than pointing and projecting the blame to the other.
A situation that would normally cause immense pain and grief can then be viewed as a means that helps us release suppressed emotions and mis-perceptions. By thinking about them in this way, any relationship becomes a vehicle for transcending the obstacles that blocks the flow of love.
