A LOVELY ARTICLE ON BALANCING DESIRES TO AVOID SUFFERING
The spiritual goal alone distinguishes the human being from other forms of life. A man does not aspire for just artha and kama or the economic and the emotional; he also wishes for dharma and moksha, the moral and the spiritual. So it’s not as though we only seek the ephemeral and fleeting, we are inclined also to look for what could be eternal and enduring. In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna calls them people engaged in materialistic goals and fulfillment of sensate desires as muddha – fools who are imbued with aasuric or demoniac nature. The Gita describes the mindset of such people: “I wanted this and today I got it. I want that; I shall acquire it tomorrow. All these riches are now mine; soon I shall have more. I have killed this enemy; I will kill all others as well and shall soon conquer the world. I am the ruler of men. I enjoy the things of this world. I am successful strong and happy. I am very wealthy and so nobly born. Who is my equal?” This mindset gives rise to passion, anger and greed that in turn lead to constant strife within the individual and in his dealings with others. Buddha, after analysing the cause of dukha, says that suffering is not due to chance and caprice. It is because of certain conditions. If these conditions are removed, then suffering, too, ceases to be. He came to the conclusion that desire is the root cause of suffering. In his Fourth Noble Truth he lays down an eightfold path for ending all desire. Ancient seers realised that “desires are never satiated by the enjoyment of desires; thereby they only flame forth ever more like fire with butter”.
I find myself living a life that perplexes me. It is nothing like I had imagined, nor nothing I had planned. This journey I am on, is truly a mystery. Today I cry, even though many others feel the same kind of pain, I believe that they don't. I am the only one with this heartache. I feel my throat tighten, my breath stops...my heart really does ache..How does one prepare for this? We know that loss is eminent, yet still there is denial. For how could you get out of bed each morning without denial? Is it these times that thrust us into our spiritual connection? How could you possibly walk on this earth...alone? I asked my brother, "So, what are your beliefs?" He said,"I guess I believe in god..but, no one really knows." How honest,to be so tuned into yourself, that you could speak just as you felt...The older I get, the less I know...Could there be a truer statement? One of the saddest things I have ever witnessed in my life, was watching hope wrestled from my brother. He held on to it so tightly, that in fact, he had me believing...even as I heard the words...I questioned myself,"Did the doctor say..grave? 2 months?" I was going to follow my brother, not the doctor. And I did. I followed him to his last breath... It takes courage to live..and to love.
I have literally been living by this phrase for the past few months… Trying things I thought I would never do and being rewarded with results I thought would never happen! The ride is exhiliarting and so worth every single up and down that was created in the process.
My community on Facebook has been building with people from all across the Globe, confirming to me that my message is Universal and understood by all. If that isn’t exciting enough, as most of you know, after a short month of blogging a local television show reached and had me do a segment on their show in early January 2013. (See it here) Then to top it all off, I have been blessed to have made many connections with national “big wigs” in the motivational and marketing community. The affirmation has been a BLESSING and has catapulted my vision of making Pajamas Notebook into something much, much more than just a “blog”.
My goal is to take this venture and reach millions of people worldwide with my message of hope and inspiration. I want to build a bridge between the generations and take yesterday’s belief systems and instill those in our technological youth. (They are our future, you know!) I want to give people something to believe in again, especially in our society where more and more are thinking there is nothing good worth achieving.
So, this past week armed only with my passion and my goals, I took a chance and applied for an opportunity to study with Jack Canfield in Bali this May. I knew it would be a long shot, seeing as many have been applying. Well… after I had over an hour conversation with the Executive V.P of Sales at the Jack Canfield headquarters, I am happy to announce that I am one of only 25 people that have been invited to attend the 4 day retreat. Whoo hoo!
The mission and goal of this retreat is to work one on one with Jack, in order to define and layout my mission, business, branding and goal. Through this intensive work, I plan on launching my brand, authoring my book (which is already a quarter of the way written) and to reach as many people as humanly possible with my message of hope and inspiration. People desperately need something to hold on to again… And I have a plan to make that happen.
While being a Stay at Home Mother of two, and a supportive wife of an entrepreneurial husband grants me the greatest blessings on earth; it’s presently considered pro bono work.
And that my friends is where I need help. I know that by having the quality training and time with Jack Canfield, it will catapult my vision into reality and I will finally be able to start helping so many others in the world ~ Especially our youth.. however, I need help making it happen!

I have been plagued for months with reoccurring nightmares . In the dreams I always end up loosing everything I hold dear , I see cruelties and devastation . Their is heavy emotion that comes with the dreams , I awake feeling sorrow , and confusion . I have tried many things , and when all had failed , I knew the only way to rid myself of these horrid nightmares was to understand what the dream was telling me . Sometimes when something is frightening to us ,it may mean we need to understand it . So after weeks and weeks of making an effort to record and understand the images I was shown , it became clear. By being shown the worst possible outcomes of my plans , the worst in humanity , even the worst in weather . By being shown my fears and mistakes ; I am shown that we all have much more control over our lives that we know . Every day we have a choice between fear and love . We can change our paths and better our lives in so many ways , big and small . Every morning you wake up , you have a choice ( this may be all you have ) to make it the best day or the worst day. I will choose to make the best of every day , especially the bad days .
It is your subconscious mind that is the storehouse of your deep-seated beliefs and program. To change your circumstances and attract to yourself that which you choose, you must learn to program and re-program your subconscious mind

Our topic today is spiritual wealth. And to me, there’s only one real life, and that’s the life inside of you. That’s what you think about you. That’s what you feel about you. It’s not about who has the most toys. It’s not about your social position. There are many wealthy people I know who are very unhappy because their life is outside of themselves. The only life you have is inside of yourself. And I’d like to read from Mel Beatty… “52 Weeks of Conscious Contact” today. “Whenever other people say we’ve got to keep things in perspective, I wonder what perspective they’re talking about… mine or theirs.” Perspective is more of a point of view. A point of view about you… about you. Perspective is looking at things closely, and looking at things from a distance. Sometimes what appears to be a full blown crisis is over in a matter of hours and only turns out to be a minor problem.
Even later on, you can look at this perspective… this problem as a place where we were blessed, where we changed our pattern. Where we changed our idea. Some of us have taken pictures of our life as if we’re using a camera. And we’re taking pictures and comparing our life to others… their intelligience, their possessions, their state of being. Yet we don’t understand that from different distances, different angles, from inside this person it may look entirely different and maybe totally miserable. Sometimes we watch a loved one or a friend experience a problem and we judge them harshly and we say its ridiculous. But we do not understand. We do not have the perspective of watching ourselves go through a similar problem.
There is a time in our spiritual growth that we all must come upon, that life is a point of view. You choose your point of view. You choose how you feel whether you’re eating a hot dog or a steak. You get to choose how you feel, how you think, what your perspective is about that. You can think from a broad spiritual point, you can think from a narrow point, that puts you in a state of lack… that puts you apart from others and causes separation. Usually we don’t see things as they are. We see things in comparison. We see things as in what we want, or what we don’t want. Perspective is the value of spiritual wealth.
Last night I had a hard time sleeping, and I was laying on my beautiful Temperpedic bed, on my beautiful mattress, on my beautiful sheets, on my beautiful pillow, and I was rustling around and I needed sleep. It was three o’clock in the morning and a voice in my head said “Starr, shut up!” Do you realize how many lifetimes you slept on the ground? Do you realize how many lifetimes you slept on straw? Do you realize how wealthy you are in comfort? I said “Okay, I’ll shut up!” Haha! So sometimes, we look at the perspective as many times as we’ve been here and what is uncomfortable or comfortable, it’s in the situation.
So, I want to take a second right now and talk to you about healing. And healing is you being able to accept a different perspective. Disease is a “lack”. It’s a lack of sacred geometry, it’s a lack of a color, it’s a lack of space because you have a pattern or belief system. It is, you couldn’t tell your friends that they were doing wrong for 10 years and then you wonder why your throat’s all like this. You couldn’t speak the truth. You couldn’t bend, so you have hip problems. We all know Louise Hays book. “You Can Heal Your Life”. Go buy it. Look at it. Maybe part of your body has a problem. Every problem is associated with a belief.
Now I want to talk to you about your challenge of wealth, cash, spiritual wealth. You have it. All of us have spiritual wealth. How do you feel about it? What is your perspective? Do you just want more and more? Someone asked one of the big billionaires…”When is it going be enough?” He said, “I just want a little bit more”. And for all of us, do we just want a little bit more? How much spirit do you have? How much wealth do you have? Look at the books, the teachers, the churches. God knows that in this town alone there 150 churches. Look at what we have and compare it to the rest of the world. The choices you have. We are wealthy spiritually beyond the other 90% of the world. You can be victimized by it… “Oh I want this… I don’t have the best car… I don’t feel serenity”. Serenity isn’t something you feel, it’s something you earn. “I’m not happy”… “All I want is joy and bliss in my life”. Well, if you have joy and bliss, you don’t get to grow… because you need the down moments. You need the other stuff.
I want to talk to you about healing spiritually today. We are so rich. You have a choice how you can feel. Your spiritual wealth is based upon how we can feel and connect. Are you starving? Are you living in a country where all you can feel is hunger? Maybe we hunger for that Mercedes or hunger for that beautiful, ever advertised, skinny body. Are you hungry? Are you sick? And the only choice you have is pain? We have a spiritual choice. A spiritual choice is how we feel about ourselves. That is your spiritual wealth. “Oh dad”… we’re angry… “There’s no oatmeal. I’m so pissed off. Everybody ate the oatmeal”. “Oh there’s no this… I don’t know what to do”. It’s Saturday night and there’s 50 choices here in Hot Springs, but since I can’t make a decision, I’m mad at myself. Our spiritual wealth and riches isn’t based on our choice, on our free will. The only life you have is the life inside of you.
You had riches, you had poverty, you’ve lived through famines, you’ve lived through death, you’ve lived through religious wars… in your past lives. You’ve lived through everything. But here… and I know sometimes myself, I get angry. “Well, I want it this way”, “Well Starr want’s it this way and it’s not happening”. How do I feel? I choose a bad moment to feel crabby,or unkind. More and more, and more, when things don’t go my way. More and more and more, I choose to face how spiritually wealthy I am. I choose to feel connected and serene. I’m not necessarily one of those people… joy, bliss, ecstasy, serenity. I’m in touch with my truth to connect with my inner true deep self. That’s the feeling. Being with friends and laughing. Being with myself and laughing.
Spiritual wealth is inside of you, within the reach of every person. You can envy your neighbor, you can envy movie stars, you can spend your whole lifetime wanting material things you don’t have. You can spend your whole lifetime living your friends and your neighbors, and be richer than the richest people in the United States.
Spiritual wealth… the only spiritual wealth there is, is about what goes on inside of you. Is it enough? You know, I drink 8-10 of those little bottles of water a day, and my husband brings them in in cases and I stack them in the refrigerator, and they’re cold. I tell you what. I don’t appreciate them until they’re not here. When I don’t have one and I have to drink faucet water, I think “ Oh Starr, you’re so rich. You get to drink spring water all the time. If they say, “Oh Starr, they’re not taking care of me, there’s not enough water here… how could they?” I’m spiritually wealthy. Let me tell you… not always... that crabby little Starr comes up, that not so spiritual Starr comes up. Yes… and I work on my wealth, and when I see, feel, hear that thought coming up in my head, I change it. I’ve got water to drink, I’ve got food to eat. I have a choice. I’m not in pain and I’m not starving… like half of the earthlings.
My spiritual wealth comes from “Knowing” that my greatest distraction to light is my whining and complaining, my feeling “lack”. The more powerful your light is the louder your lack voice is. You have to fight it with words, you have to fight it with thoughts, you have to fight it with affirmations, you have to fight it with positive feelings because the bigger your light, the more your distractions are in life. Because that is how God tempers our light, makes it stronger. It gives it color, gives it hue, gives it the ability to rain on other people and change their life.
You’re so spiritually wealthy… unbelievably wealthy here. For a long time, for many years in India, if you were spiritual you had to be poor, but ten years ago that changed. Now, all the spiritual people have wealth, physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, material. They decided we’re free. I can be spiritual and have houses and things. For many, many years India looked that way, now they’re getting abundant, they’re getting prosperity there. So what do we have to give up? What do we have to give up to have spiritual wealth? We have to give up the distractions. We have to give up feeling when God is tempering our life… “poor me, I’m not getting life my way, well screw life, I’m not going to do anything at all”. “Well, if I can’t have it my way, I don’t want it at all.” Or, “I want my life to be this picture.” Hey, we decided spirit to come into body. We said, “Hey, I’m going to come down and have an earthly experience.” We wrote a soul contract, and when the contract is enacted, when things start going the way our soul decided, but our personality didn’t, we stop functioning. “I’m three years old, if its not my way, I’m not going to live it. I’m not going to feel any more, I’m not going to think any more, I’m gonna resentful and a victim for the rest of my life.” You’re not in pain. You’re not starving. You are so spiritually wealthy. It is your choice how you feel moment to moment, second to second, day to day, hour to hour.
On my walk , I had a talk with Earth today, As I lay on the frozen ground, holding my breath, awaiting sound, the snow around me melted away,intricately leaving an outline to stay,of our inter-play.

Hello Son, Perceiving Different Vibrations
When a person meditates regularly and practices goodwill to others; his awareness increases.
This increase is dependent on the time that person has spent raising his vibrations; this could be reading mantras, rosary beads or prayers. By doing this practice he raises his vibrations above the lower limitations of this world into a higher plain of information.
The key word here is ‘information’; we have to admit that we all perceive things differently to each other and have also different opinions. When we receive information, we are also dependent upon what frequency we can receive this information.
We receive from the heart, mind and soul; and in each information there is a certain frequency.
If a person is kind-hearted and others feel his warmth and generosity, then his heart is more active than his mind. If this is the case then his heart is vibrating at a higher vibrational frequency then his other organs. He will then reach a critical mass when he will start being inspired from his heart; which relays this information to other parts of the body to make action.
This process is the same for the mind and the soul; however in some cases all of the three can be activated and as a result we can be inspired from all of them. We then receive guidance from multiple sources.
This process of inspiration is dependent upon our active dealings and worldly life. This also includes when we have contact with others.
Your mother; the laws of the universe and the Creator are there for you to all use and understand.

Hello Son, Anxiety and rising above the emotion to carry on
There has been a sudden change in the entire world; emotions are part of this change. We feel as though we are constantly evaluating and been critical of ourselves. This is quite common at this time as the new vibrations flooding the planet are the cause of this.
The Creator wants all of mankind to ‘take stock’ of our lives and truly analyse and reflect on the things we have done in the past and the lessons we have learnt from them.
When we do this, we might get emotional and start crying or sadness will fall over us for a short time. It is important, not to get into this state for too long and start worrying; there is no need.
For example, the mind is a chatter box of thousands and millions of thoughts, do we actually stop and reflect on every thought or worry that comes into our head? The answer is simply, no. We accept that the mind is just thinking, calculating or planning things, we always move on.
When a person is unable to move on and becomes anxious, it is important to take a break and change the atmosphere; meaning, go out and change the emotional environment. Or talk to someone and release the blocked energies.
This is necessary to avoid a built up of emotions that could get worse.
For any extreme emotion, it is also important to find the root of the problem by yourselves. This evaluation will help you in later life’s experiences, if need be, then share the experience with someone who can give you unbiased advice.
This type of emotion has several spiritual significances and it is sometimes difficult to accurately suggest the right move, without consultation. However, consider this case;
There is an intense desire to make a link with the higher consciousness. The person is so involved in this type of thinking; he becomes restless and cannot see a way out of his predicament. This is an attractive emotion that everyone goes through in the search of seeking the truth.
We have all gone through this, and worriedly paced up and down in our mind, searching for answers. God never forsakes the people who speak the truth and spend their lives making wise choices.
You are special, and believe in this as you walk down the road. I say this again, you are special.
The Creator will embrace you and smother His love until we understand that it was only an emotion which was necessary that we go through, in the road of living in this material world. When we look back on this period, you will be proud that you were able to go through and past the test at that time.
I too embrace you.
