Boxed into a corner with the rest of forgotten humanity, the self, which is a hollow illusion, takes up much space within one's mind.
Neatly categorizing every phenomena into a reduceable object of inquiry, the self does much to work against its own undoing.
Emerging from the void, non-emergence is better than re-emergence.
When emerging from something, it is believed that something is being left behind for good.
When staying in a state of non-emergence, everything that the void has consumed abides in the infinity of space.
The self, which is a product of the causal chains of nature, is the result of this re-emergence into formed conceptions of formed realities.
The difference between being formed and formless is the difference that exists between perceiving the self as being either full of something or empty of everything.
No self is a characteristic of enlightenment only because the deluded mistakingly believe that there is a gap between being full and being empty.
Infinite in consciousness and omnipotent in wisdom, morality and compassion, the great seal of liberation is nothing other than a supremely lucid mind.
Shifting from a formed state to a formless one in a matter of seconds, every thought about reality loses itself in the immanent immensity of the void of primordial being.
Getting out of the corners of the self, the self is every corner of space until there is no more space to conquer.
Dismissing buddhahood, which is ultimately another impermanent identity to latch onto, there is no need to take on another type of self when formlessness is paramount to freedom from extremes.
Observing a rippleless ocean in full action, every extreme which manifests as another identity is silenced by the magnitude of something that transcends every faculty of divine contemplation.
As smooth as an unblinking sky, the self crystallizes into a formed entity when focused on and evaporates like a fading star when the mind abides in the formlessness of nature's ways.
Self or no self; the choice is yours. One brings pain; the other brings bliss.
Blissfully formless, the limitless forms of existence peacefully slumber under the night's sky, bringing a type of neutrality to all who traverse Mara's deadly path.
Not having to be submissive to any traditional notion of selfhood or buddhahood, be who you are when you are who you are.
Rising from one's lotus position, the buddha is ready to surmount his past attainments in order to realize the emptiness of all strivings and attainments.
Lifting a finger, perfection naturally unfolds.

Garuda, when manifest as the asana or seat of Lord Vishnu, most carefully carries the grace of God between His two wings.
In like fashion, a devotee of the Lord self manifests an asana for Lord Vishnu within his or her heart.
The heart being the seat of God, may Lord Vishnu comfortably sit in my heart and direct me through steering my bridled senses to the destination where the fallen souls are in most need of transcendental shelter.
Inwardly soaring with the nobility of Garuda, the carrier of omnipotent love teaches me how to serve the Lord through preaching.
Opening my beak of a mouth, Garuda, like every other paraphernalia of the Lord, sings a song of transcendence to the drowning victims of Maya's oceanic sufferings.
Pulling the devotees out of so many uncomfortable situations, may Garuda's humility as the Lord's seat be transferred to all devotees who are yearning to be sat upon by Lord Vishnu's lotus body.

A warrior so strong Standing tall and proud His cheekbones witness To his noble descent His eyes piercing and intelligent Like those of the eagle Whose familiar he is
His muscles honed Mind sharpened He is ready to fight With grand spirit For the rights of his people For the acknowledgement Of Mother Earth’s life
His hair Shining in glossy black Cascades down his back In traditional custom And beautiful splendour
How he leaps and whirls At the powwow How he wields the spear And lets arrows fly Slicing the air With confidence And sure aim The knife in his hand A tool to follow ancient custom
A man, part of Mother Earth Part of the Spirit World Where eagle flies And bear slumbers A piece of art Crafted and perfected by nature Is the temple of his body And the focus of his spirit Was created To shine the light Of the First Nations To the far shores of the oceans
A rainbow warrior Carrying the message of the gods Within his gait To unite the world For a better life for all peoples Human, animal, plants and rocks alike
Rally those without direction And unite them for the divine cause To spread the love and wisdom Of the spirits Guiding the light Of the torch you carry On the Red Road

(Translated from the Dhammapada An anthology of 423 verses)
Better than a thousand hollow words, is one word that brings peace. … Better than a thousand hollow verses, is one verse that brings peace. It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell. Live in joy, in love, even among those who hate. Live in joy, in health, Even among the afflicted. Live in joy, in peace, Even among the troubled. Live in joy, without possessions, Like the shining ones. There is no fire like greed, No crime like hatred. No sorrow like separation, No sickness like hunger of heart, And no joy like the joy of freedom. Health, contentment and trust Are your greatest possessions, And freedom your greatest joy. Look within, be still Free from fear and attachment, Know the sweet joy of living in the way.

The dragonfly comes into the classroom with mysterious fanfare coming from invisible trumpets. Before he reaches his desk to transform into our teacher the question confronts him.
“Teacher,” the irreverent student says, rubbing the back of his neck. “I have been faithful and patient. Why do good things never happen to me?”
The dragonfly circles my classmate. “You are impatient, my child.”
“No, sir, I am VERY patient. I have been waiting and praying and I come here every week, but nothing good ever happens to me. It’s always everyone else who gets good news.”
The teacher flutters to his area, a small stage topped by a desk in front of a pristine blackboard, and becomes the man we know him to be, tall and lanky with a baseball cap set at a rakish angle. “Good morning, my children,” he says, hooking his thumbs through the loops of his faded blue jeans. He turns to our irreverent classmate. “You are impatient, my son.”
The student straightens as if to argue again.
Teacher raises a palm toward him. “Please sit, for now. I will explain.”
In defiance of his normal temperament, our classmate kneels and waits, his eyes begging. Creeps me out a bit at first, then I remember story-time in elementary school and I join him, sitting cross-legged in front of the stage.
Teacher takes a seat on the steps to his area. “Good things are always happening to us, you included. It is perception that keeps our eyes closed.”
The irreverent student wants to argue, but teacher won’t pause long enough to allow him a way into the discussion. “How many years were you waiting to join my class?” We all know the answer. The waiting list is long. Many of us waited years. Our classmate, however, was allowed admission within a few months of application. Again, teacher doesn’t allow time for a response, only for understanding. “You weren’t forced to wait nearly as long as others.”
Awed, our classmate finally jumps in, “Why is that, teacher?”
“Because you approached; most students typically wait.” He steps to the blackboard. Then, pressing a thin, white piece of chalk between his fingers, he begins to draw shapes and twists. “The things that happen to us are always good. It is our perception that imagines them to be anything but. The good news is that as we get closer to the Source of all that is, our insight becomes more clear.”
The random lines and loops he has drawn begin to take form. He is drawing a dragonfly, complete with the colors of the wings our teacher uses as that creature. “This is me,” he says. “You come to me for guidance toward Source.”
My classmates and I, captivated by what seems to be an honest, direct answer, nod.
“I cannot find you, so coming to me is the first move. You must want to learn.” He glances toward the irreverent student before drawing a football. “Let’s say this is you. Firm, focused, deliberate.” He shakes his head. “But, no, you are not inanimate. You are the quarterback, represented by a football.” Sometimes teacher seems to be grasping at straws in the dark.
“Let’s say you are not a very good quarterback.”
The classroom erupts in chuckles, but our classmate ignores the snickers.
“You say you are not lucky, I say you just miss the mark, at times. But, always, the ball advances. Sometimes you hand it to a teammate who moves it for you. Sometimes you tuck the ball under an arm and run it in. And, as you advance, you get closer to your answers and more good things happen for you.”
Our teacher walks toward us again, marking his steps with his words. “You asked about bad things. I propose that bad things do not happen to you. As you continue the lessons, that will become more clear to you.” He stops in front of the original questioner, kneeling in front of him. “As you continue your evolution as a student, the answers will flow more clearly. You will understand that good things have always been within your grasp.”
He rests a hand on the classmate’s shoulder, using the leverage to prop himself back to his feet. He returns to the stage, setting into motion the pictures on the blackboard. The quarterback leads his team down the field. The whistles and crowd cheers of a championship game surround us from invisible speakers as the team advances toward the dragonfly, which hovers over yellow goal posts. “This quarter you may not be winning, but your team is advancing. Have faith that the goal line is within your reach and Source will work with you. You only need to make an effort to meet Him half way.”
He swipes a hand through the air and the blackboard erases, to be replaced by directions for our next project.
“That is all, dear ones. I leave you to work on the assignment.”
He nods toward me and fades into his alter ego, leaving me as his TA for today’s lesson. I will share it once I understand.

The Simple Truths of Appreciation. How each of us can choose to make a difference.
This is a true story, as told by Barbara Glanz.
In my speeches and workshops, i sometimes ask my audiences to shut their eyes, and think about someone who, at some time in their lives, has REKINDLED THEIR INNER LIGHT.
It is always a profound experience for everyone as they remember the JOY they received from being appreciated by someone when they needed it the most.
After one session a gentleman thanked me for creating a new awareness. He had immediately thought of his eighth grade literature teacher who had really *made an impact* on his life. He planned to track her down and thank her.
A few months later he called me to say he had written his teacher. She had gotten his letter, and the following week she sent him her response...
"Dear John,
You will never know how much your letter meant to me. I am 83 years old, and i am living all alone in one room. My friends are all gone. My family's gone. I taught for 50 years and yours is the first *thank you* letter i have ever gotten from a student. Sometimes i wonder what i did with my life. I will read and reread your letter until the day i die."
He was very emotional on the phone. He said, "She is always the one we talk about at every reunion." "She was everyone's Favorite Teacher." "We loved her!" "But no one had ever told her...until she received his letter."
Mother Teresa said:
"Kindness is a language we all understand. Even the blind can see it and the deaf can hear it."

Positive Thoughts Bring Light To Your Life
Many people have and you might have experienced the electricity being out for awhile or days. Have you noticed how dark it is with no light? Only one candle can bring a lot of light to an entire room.
A positive thought can be like a candle in a dark place in your life. One well-aligned positive thought can bring light to a circumstance that is stressful. One positive thought can create relaxation and remind you of the perfect pattern that Life establishes for you.
Every enlightened master speaks of the light. Buddha indicated that the light of consciousness sets you free. Jesus, said, “I am the Light of the world.” Enlightened masters are completely lit up with Life—and you are invited to bring light into your life too.
Angels fly as their energy is comprised of positive thought energy. They are light beings taking themselves lightly.
Here’s to many positive thoughts in your life. ###

And in the turn of the edge of that tide or in these reflections, see where dark night has no sway stay awhile in this moon-silver beauty; dance of a leaf falling, falling, inside in waves ‘n’ waves this love potion for tender hearts. & I have had coffee as angel feathers drift in the breeze while many women come to lift the veils of mysteries unfolding; 10000 veils lift one by one, as I sweep my yard backwards; funny how things can seem when you get turned around. Back to the moon then with the half empty of it all, back to the pavement with a sweet word; this dream is half remembered; and they say help is coming, they say so many things, can't place your face in here anymore, but there is a current, it occupies my mind, I see it everywhere, I imagine it, no one is immune, I have played the blues to it, and pretty girls have told me how much they like it, it disturbs me while I sleep, and wakes me up with its insistence, most of my life has been in its thrall, it’s attraction, I will tell you all more later, right now I need a smoke. Take this love it's all there is, take this life it can’t go on like this, too much hurt for too long, not enough comfort inside, it hurts too much, give it up, turn back, turn around, there's nowhere to go, and nowhere to go back to, turn away, hide away, nothing to try for, hollow words echo all day long: there is no use. I admit: I'm desperate, helpless tearing apart every day with this terrible longing. I've tried everything. I'm out on a limb now, only you to help me. Lost, looking for you. We can't find each other; our cries in the mist of it all come and go. Tap me on the shoulder and say: BOO.

Charles Plumb was a U.S. Navy jet pilot in Vietnam. After seventy-five combat missions, his plane was shot down, and Plumb parachuted into enemy territory, becoming a POW. He survived his ordeal, however, and eventually returned home. While eating in a restaurant one day, he was approached by a scruffy-looking man who said, "You're Plumb! You flew jet fighters in Vietnam and were shot down!"
"How did you know that?" asked Plumb.
"I packed your parachute," the man replied. "I guess it worked!"
Plumb couldn't sleep that night, thinking about the unknown man who'd saved his life. From that day on, he determined to always take notice of—and say thank you to those who "pack his parachute" each day.
Make the most of each day by thanking those who "pack your parachute" and by making an effort to do the same for someone else.
Father, I know that You can use even the smallest gestures and efforts. Thank You for all the little things people do for me, and help me to be an encouragement to someone else today. Amen.
January 20, 2013 an easy relaxing 27 mile meditative run,” You can close the windows and darken your room, and you can open the windows and let light in. It is a matter of choice. Your mind is your room. Do you darken it or do you fill it with light?”
Give the body the nourishment , the exercise , the fresh air , and the sunlight it requires , keep it clean , and think of it as little as possible. In your thoughts and in your conversations never dwell on the negative side. Don't talk of sickness and disease. By talking of these you do yourself harm and you do harm to those who listen to you. Talk of those things that will make people the better for listening to you. Thus you will infect them with health and strength and not with weakness and disease. To dwell upon the negative side is always destructive. This is true of the body the same as it is true of all other things. We can never gain health by contemplating disease , any more than we can reach perfection by dwelling upon imperfections , or harmony through discord. We should keep a high ideal of health and harmony constantly before the mind.
Never affirm or repeat about your health what you do not wish to be true. Do not dwell upon your ailments , nor study your symptoms. Never allow yourself to be convinced that you are not complete master of yourself. Stoutly affirm your superiority over bodily ills , and do not acknowledge yourself the slave of any inferior power... Teach children early to build strong barriers between themselves and disease , by healthy habits of thought , high thinking , and purity of life. Teach them to expel All thoughts of death , all images of disease , all discordant emotions , like hatred , malice , revenge , and envy .Teach them that bad food , bad drink , or bad air makes bad blood ; that bad blood makes bad tissue , and bad fleshed morals. Teach our children that healthy thoughts are as essential to healthy bodies as pure thoughts to a clean life.Teach them to cultivate a strong will power , and to brace themselves against life's enemies in every possible way. Like produces like the cosmos through. Hatred , envy , malice , jealousy and revenge all have children. Every bad thought breeds others , and each of these goes on and on , ever reproducing itself , until our world is peopled with their offspring.. The true parents of today and our coming future will not medicate the body with drugs so much as the mind with principles.. The true mother will teach her children to assuage the fever of anger , hatred and malice with love.
♥ Harbouring anger and hatred toward anyone guarantees that you remain in low energy fields where problems will continue to crop up repeatedly in your life. I suggest that you examine every relationship in which you feel judgemental thoughts of anger and hatred. Replace those thoughts with energies of acceptance, kindness, cheerfulness, and love. You will have to make a personal commitment to, first of all, notice what you are feeling and then exercise your ability to choose to send love. When your heart becomes pure, your enemy becomes your friend, or even more significantly, your teacher. Your worst enemies are your greatest teachers because they allow you to examine the emotions of anger and revenge and then to transcend them. They give you the exact tools you need to elevate yourself to the spiritual energies that provide your solutions.
